AXIL’s Training
Recognising the need for tailored training, Axil was invited to deliver a Waste & Resource Management Training Day at Cytiva’s Ilfracombe site.
Mark Ridge, EHS Coordinator and Environmental and Sustainability Site Lead at Cytiva said:
“It is our policy to seek continual improvement throughout our business operations to lessen our impact on the local and global environment by conserving energy, water and other natural resources, reducing waste generation and promoting recycling where possible.
To accomplish this, we have implemented an Environmental and Sustainability working group which is run by associates on site. To assist the associates and to give them better understanding we invited AXIL to site to deliver a waste & resource management training day. The training covered subjects such as the waste hierarchy, waste management best practices, our responsibilities as a producer of waste plus current/future policy and legislation, amongst others.
The training given was very well presented by Gina and received by the associates, the content was clear to understand and appropriate to our needs.”
The Waste Academy Course has been designed to change the way our clients approach waste management, keeping resource stewardship at its core. In just one day, clients will gain practical insights into waste management best practices, hazardous waste, legislation and compliance, producer obligations, current and future policy, plus discussion around zero waste philosophies and the transition from linear to circular business models.
We work closely with our clients to support their sustainability and efficiency goals. Our focus is on achieving interactive and engaging sessions, delivered by subject matter experts with over 25 years of industry experience.

Head of Sustainability & Zero Waste, Gina Rudkin, reflects on the day:
“It was a pleasure to build on the evident passion for environmental improvement within the team at Cytiva. To get the best out of the course you need to be involved! The Cytiva team stepped up to the challenge, with lively discussions centred around Circular Economy business models, highlighting the challenges and opportunities they present.”
Axil’s Waste Academy isn’t just about compliance; it’s an unmissable CPD certified short course, focusing on sustainability and positive environmental impact.
